A PRISONER reportedly strolled to freedom undetected at the Qalakabusha prison last Saturday.
It is believed he wore plain clothes underneath his prison uniform and during visiting hours slipped off his uniform unnoticed in the crowded visitation area.
He then dumped the uniform and walked out of the prison.
It is believed he is serving a 25 year sentence.
With the help of informants, the man was later arrested in the Mtubatuba area last Tuesday.
The Department of Correctional Services and the SAPS were contacted for comment, but none was received at the time of going to print.
