A MAN was convicted and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for a murder he committed on 5 July last year.
Sigcino Nxumalo (24) was found guilty of the murder of Siyabonga Mhlongo (18) in the Kwanyakanyaka area outside Nongoma.
Nxumalo and Mhlongo were at a traditional ceremony at one of the homesteads in the area.
He attacked Mhlongo, fatally stabbing him in the chest.
Mhlongo died of the stab wounds and the Nongoma police opened a case of murder.
Nxumalo was arrested the following day and he appeared several times in the Nongoma Magistrate’s Court before he was sentenced.
