Donations for education
The money will be used to support children needing educational financial aid.
THEY say ‘charity begins at home’, and on Saturday many uMlalazi residents raised over R30 000 at the first Lithemba Fund-raising Gala Dinner held at the Metro Centre in eShowe.
The money will be used to support children needing educational financial aid.
One of the beneficiaries was Sifiso Magwaza, a Sunnydale pupil who received a sponsorship from Phiwe Mhlongo.
After hearing of Sifiso’s adversities, Mhlongo offered to pay his registration fees of R6 000.
Mhlongo and his colleagues also pledged to donate R8 000 towards Sifiso’s educational fees.
Dr Sibusiso Zungu offered to host a golf day at the eShowe Hills Eco-Estate.
Every guest received a potted sunflower.
The sunflower is Lithemba’s emblem.
