Local tennis players leave it all out on centre court
PRIMARY School tennis players from all over the Zululand region grabbed their rackets and competed in the uThungulu regional tennis trials at the Richards Bay Country Club on Saturday.
Competitors competed in singles matches, leaving everything out on the court in the hope of making the team that will compete at the KZN inter-regional tournament in Pietermaritzburg from 26 to 28 February.
The uThungulu team is as follows:
Girls: Emily Cobbold (Mtunzini Primary), Amahle Fihlela (Mzingwenya), Kirsten Johnson (Grantleigh) and Erin Hill (Mtunzini Primary).
Boys: Joe Hill (Mtunzini Primary), Alex van Eeden (Grantleigh), Philip Walz (Mtunzini Primary) and Lungelo Gumbi (Veldenvlei Primary).
The high School trials will take place on Saturday at the Richards Bay Country Club, with play getting underway from 8am.
