BREAKING NEWS: Man guns down woman before attempting suicide in shopping mall
The victim is believed to be the shooter's girlfriend
A MAN shot a woman before turning the gun on himself in the Biyela shopping centre, Empangeni this morning (Saturday).
The woman was declared dead on scene. The man sustained massive head injury and has been transported to hospital in critical condition.
Witnesses claim only two shots were fired.
The motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting are unknown at this stage.
Police are investigating a case of murder.
‘ The details of the incident are unclear at the moment, more information will be released upon official investigation,’ said Empangeni SAPS Spokesperson Captain Mbongeni Mdlalose.
