Local beauty chases national pageant title
Richards Bay teen Dana-Lynn Marais is ready to vie for the title of Miss Junior South Africa
HAVING started her modelling career only a few months ago, Richards Bay beauty Dana-Lynn Marais is already gearing up to vie for the titles of Miss Junior SA and the Face of South Africa.
The 16-year-old Grade 10 pupil at Richards Bay High School has always had a keen interest of hitting the runway, but it was a final push of motivation by her sisters that resulted in the brave move to enter for the big title.
After joining Trelique Models Modelling and Promotions Agency last year, Dana-Lynn took the plunge and entered the preliminary round of the Miss and Mr Junior South Africa pageant in October.
A few weeks later she received confirmation of her spot as a national finalist.
This excitement was fuelled by her winning the titles of Top Model in her category and Miss Photogenic at the annual Trelique graduation.
Dana-Lynn has until mid-March to prepare.
Juggling school, a social life and her growing modelling career, she has a lot on her plate but is ready for the challenge.
Hosted in Pretoria, the five-day pageant will comprise of daily judging and conclude with a gala evening and crowning ceremony.
With five wardrobe changes, she will be showing off her casual, interview, evening, Disney and gala evening gowns to the panel of judges.
One of the biggest hurdles she now faces is obtaining sponsorship to fund her travel, accommodation, outfits and grooming requirements and would appreciate any support she can get.
If you would like to assist with sponsorship, contact Erica on 072 4730112.
